FAQ
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. How do I capture physical exams?
There are a couple of ways to capture physical exams. You can:
Verbalize your findings. Some doctors explain to the patient as they go, or you can wait for the patient to leave and dictate the exams into Empathia.
Use a comprehensive PE template. Findings will be automatically populated.
Use macros to add findings after seeing the patient. You can edit the note and use shortcut keys to type in the appropriate fields.
2. How long does it take to train the AI?
It takes about 5 encounters to tailor the AI to your preferences, i.e., minimal editing is required. If you correct a particular medication name twice, it will learn the third time. The more you use Empathia and give feedback, the faster it learns and adapts for you.
3. How does it handle input from a third person, i.e., the patient’s relative?
When a patient's relative or any third party is involved in an encounter, our AI system is designed to synthesize all inputs collectively. Generally, this results in comprehensive and accurate notes.
If you have multiple patients visit at the same time, for example, a sibling visit or couple visit, to help AI better differentiate the speakers, here are some tips:
Try to call the patient by name as much as possible
If possible, focus on talking to one patient at a time
If possible, try to summarize the information by patient
However, it's essential to acknowledge that multi-speaker scenarios can be challenging. Our system continually improves as it encounters more of these situations.
If you frequently have multi-speaker patient encounters, you can ask one of our Customer Success Specialists about our "recording multi-speaker" beta feature!
