Feature Overview
In patient consultations, conversations frequently involve multiple participants, not just the patient and physician. For example, a guardian may discuss the health concerns of several dependents during a single visit or a patient & their spouse may both present during a consultation. There are certain specialties which also require input from different professionals during consultations.
Multi-speaker identification, or speaker diarization, is particularly critical in such healthcare settings. It aids in distinguishing between different speakers, such as identifying who is the clinician and which speaker’s information should be prioritized based on the context. Effective speaker diarization helps to minimize the risk of capturing incorrect information in medical notes and assists in organizing the medical histories of different patients accurately.
How-To Guide
- On the Chrome Extension, click on the up arrow next to the “Start Recording” button
2. Click on “Start Diarization”
3. Conduct your conversation as usual. You will see the speakers being assigned to the transcript after the recording is stopped.
Best Practices and Tips
If there are several different professionals present during a consultation, it is best practice to identify them by their name & designation when engaging with them in conversation.
