Overview:
The Telemedicine on Mobile feature allows clinicians to conduct virtual visits directly from their mobile devices, offering both phone and video call options. With this feature, Empathia's built-in AI scribe captures, transcribes, and generates notes from the conversation, enabling clinicians to focus on the patient without worrying about documentation.
Why We Built This:
The Telemedicine feature is designed to enhance accessibility and convenience for both clinicians and patients. It allows for efficient, seamless virtual care that can be used across various scenarios, such as:
Hands-Free Conversations with Privacy: With the Telemedicine feature, physicians can now enjoy a seamless experience talking with patients over headphones, maintaining a comfortable sense of privacy while ensuring the system accurately captures every word.
Streamlined Virtual Visits: This feature is ideal for follow-up appointments, consultations, and routine check-ins, making it easy for clinicians to initiate video or phone visits from within the mobile app, without switching devices or applications.

FAQ:
Can I do telemedicine on my computer?
Answer: Yes! If you are using a virtual meeting platform, you can record directly from the web extension by following these steps:
1. Open your video encounter tab on Google Chrome.
2. With the video call tab open, click "Start AI Scribe" to open the Empathia extension. Below is a visual representation of this.
3. Make sure you are NOT using a headset. This is crucial for the extension to capture the audio of your patient's microphone.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Phone tree verification:
- Option 1: You can temporarily disable the phone tree (likely by the end of the day) and attempt the verification process again. This will allow you to receive the verification call.
- Option 2: If you cannot disable the phone tree AND you have an extension number that is answered by an operator, please contact us at support@empathia.ai
- Verification Issues: If the verification process fails, try re-entering the code or selecting a different verification method (SMS or call). If issues persist, contact support@empathia.ai.
- Audio Capture: Ensure that your microphone permissions are enabled for the app to allow smooth audio recording and transcription.
The Telemedicine feature brings virtual care to your mobile app, making it easier to stay connected with patients while Empathia handles documentation. Enjoy more efficient virtual visits with the convenience of built-in AI scribing and improved privacy with headphone compatibility.
