Different types of encounters require different services and documentations. The style and contents can vary significantly depending on the physician and the types of visits. At Empathia AI, you can categorize the encounters with "Visit Type", which can further tailor the note generation to better meet your needs!
1. On the “start recording” and “during recording” page, users have the option to choose what visit type it is for this particular encounter. (App + Extension + Web). Below is a visual representation of this.
- The system will remember the last choice so you don't have to set it every time.
For Family Medicine and Primary Care Physicians
In-Person Visit - Established Patient [Default]
- No family history required.
In-Person Visit - New Patient
- Requirements:
- Clearly note that the visit was conducted in person, including physical exam comments and findings.
- A provisional and differential diagnosis must be included, along with a clearly outlined plan.
- Only include sections that are commented on; do not add unmentioned sections.
- Requirements:
In-Person Follow-Up Visit
- No Chief Complaint (CC) or family history required.
Telemedicine - Video Visit
- Requirements:
- Clearly indicate that the visit was conducted via video.
- Do not include physical exam findings, as these were not conducted in person.
- A provisional and differential diagnosis must be provided, along with a clearly outlined plan.
- Only include sections that are commented on; do not add unmentioned sections.
- Requirements:
Telemedicine - Audio Only
- No physical exams are permitted.
For Specialists
In-Person Visit - New Patient
- Include all relevant sections of the History of Present Illness (HPI), medications, immunizations, family history, and social history. If any sections are not mentioned, do not add them.
In-Person Follow-Up Visit
- May require fewer subsections since the patient has been seen previously. If not mentioned, do not include subsection headers. Family history, medical history, medications, and social history are typically unnecessary unless specified.
Telemedicine - Video Visit
- Follow similar requirements as outlined for Family Medicine.
Telemedicine - Audio Only
- Follow similar requirements as outlined for Family Medicine.
For Behavioural/Mental Health Providers
During the “start recording” and “during recording” phases, users can select the visit type for each encounter (available on the app, extension, and web). The system remembers the last choice made, eliminating the need for users to set it every time.
