Adjust Note Length

Overview:

The Adjust Note Length feature provides quick adjustments to the level of detail in notes, offering three options—Concise, Moderately Detailed, and Highly Detailed—to match each encounter’s documentation needs without re-dictating or extensively editing.

Why We Built This:

For different encounters, clinicians will prefer to capture more details sometimes or keep the notes brief and concise. The Modify Note Length feature was created to offer a quick way to control the length and detail of their notes. Key benefits and use cases include:

  • Efficiency and Flexibility: Quickly modify notes based on encounter type, whether it’s a routine check-up, a detailed consultation, or an exhaustive case report.
  • Time-Saving Adjustments: Avoid repetitive edits and tailor the notes in seconds, making it easier to balance brevity with thoroughness as needed.

How it Works:

  1. Open the Desired Encounter:

    • Navigate to the encounter you’d like to adjust.
  2. Access Adjust Note Length:

    • On the right side of the screen, locate the vertical toolbar where options like Copy, Edit, and Smart Edit are available.
    • Click on the new "Modify Note Length" option located above the Smart Edit (purple magic wand) icon
  3. Choose the Level of Detail:

    • A dropdown box will appear. Click on it to reveal the three options:
      • Concise: For concise notes with essential information only.
      • Moderately Detailed: For comprehensive notes with plenty of details.
      • Highly Detailed: For exhaustive notes covering all aspects of the encounter.
      • Select your desired option, and the system will begin regenerating the notes with the chosen level of detail. You will see a green "regenerating" icon indicating that it's in process.

  4. Review the Changes:

    • Once the notes are generated, a "See Difference" window will appear, similar to the Smart Edit feature.
    • This window displays both the original and modified versions side-by-side for easy comparison.
  5. Save the Updated Notes:

    • Scroll to the bottom of the See Differencewindow, where you’ll find two options:
      • Keep Old Notes: Retains the original note without any changes.
      • Insert New Notes: Saves and applies the newly modified notes

Best Practice:

  • Match Length to Encounter Type
    • Use Concise for routine follow-ups, Moderately Detailed for general consults or complex cases, and Super Detailed for exhaustive, detailed records.
  • Review Before Saving
    • Always use the See Difference window to confirm changes align with your needs before saving.

Troubleshooting Guide:

  • Notes Not Generating:
    • If the notes are not updating after selecting a new length, try refreshing the encounter and selecting the modify option again.
  • Error Messages
    • If you receive an error, ensure your internet connection is stable and try again. Contact support if the issue persists.
  • Save Issues
    • If changes aren’t saving, double-check that you’ve clicked "Insert New Notes" at the bottom of the See Difference window.
