Empathia Chrome Extension supports recording inside the OSCAR-Juno EMR encounter page. Here is a guide that walks through the workflow and provides some tips.

Workflow

1. Open daily schedules and click “E” to open an E-chart

2. The Empathia Chrome Extension recording panel will be added to the bottom right corner of the E-chart dialog.

3. Click “Start recording” and continue the consultation with the patient.

4. Click “Stop recording”.

5. At this moment, you have two options:

  1. You can close the E-chart dialog and start another E-chart. You can return later to check the note by reopening this same E-chart dialog.
  2. If not, you can wait a moment; the note will automatically reload when it is ready.

6. The chart will be automatically attached below the “Start recording” button.

7. After it is successfully generated, the icon turns into a note icon. Click it to expand to see the note detail.

Click the button to copy notes. If it is in the Juno e-chart during an editing encounter, Empathia will automatically append the note content to the note being edited on the encounter page.

Other tips

1. Ensure that the audio permission is granted and it only requests once.

2. Also, the permission to read and change all sites as the following:

3. To open the e-chart dialog, click on the "E" button on the schedule list page. There is another way to access it: go to "schedule list" → click on "M" → click on "E-chart+". However, this method will not work because we cannot identify the appointment or encounter from that page.

4. If you have started recording but forgot to stop, don't worry. The extension will automatically stop and create the encounter for you.

5. In our test environment, the URL uses HTTP, so we cannot copy it to the clipboard. However, it should work in the user's environment.
