[Beta Feature] AI Digest and Auto-Fill

Overview

Introducing AI Digest and Auto-Fill, a powerful feature designed to enhance efficiency by scanning and extracting information from web pages and PDFs, including both structured and unstructured data. This feature can help generate a synthesize summary but also automatically populates structured forms, significantly reducing the time clinicians spend on data entry and allowing them to focus more on patient care.


Note: Currently, AI Digest and Auto-Fill only work for electronic forms and files accessed through Chrome; local files opened in Chrome are not supported.


Why We Built This

This feature addresses the common pain points associated with repetitive data entry across various medical forms. For instance, when creating a new patient profile or filling out detailed medical forms, the AI extracts relevant patient information from referral letters and registration forms, simplifying the documentation process.




How It Works

  1. AI Scan and Digest:
    • Open Chrome Extension scan window, one lick to scan the pages of your choice, for example: referral letters, new patient registration forms, or PDFs that contain patient information.
  2. Review and Auto-fill
    • Open a web form, fillable PDF, or web browser-based EMR forms, click "Auto fill form" to auto-fill the forms. 



Use Cases

  1. Transfer the Empathia-generated notes to your EMR
    • You can auto-scan the generated SOAP notes or Consult Letters, and auto-fill the EMR. 
    • Please feel free to reach out at support@empathia.ai if you have issue. 
  2. Create New Patient Profiles in EMR:
  • The AI scans the eFax, referral letters, uploaded documents, extracts patient details, and auto-populates the fields in the EMR.
  • Clinicians can review the populated information and confirm its accuracy before final submission


Note: Currently, AI Digest can work only with web browser-based EMR to fit the unique needs of different forms.


     3.  Medical Form Auto-Fill:

  • After extracting relevant data, the AI automatically fills out these forms, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, including but not limited to:
    • Patient History Forms
    • Medication Reconciliation Forms
    • Referral Forms
    • Insurance Letters

      4. Quick Patient History Search:

  • Click "Chat with page", and retrieve key patient history details from various input sources (eFax, encounter recordings, uploaded patient files) to streamline the charting process.

  • Medical Knowledge Search:
    1. Utilize the quick search feature to access recent studies or guidelines that inform patient care decisions rapidly.
    2. Search for the latest medical information from reliable sources like PubMed, OpenEvidence, and UpToDate.
    3. Access synthesized summaries relevant to the patient’s condition without manually searching multiple databases.
  • Integrations with Other Features: Combine this feature with the AI-Powered AutoExtract for a seamless workflow, where intake data feeds directly into patient profiles and relevant medical forms.

  • Common Use Tips: Review the auto-filled data promptly after extraction to ensure accuracy. Cross-reference with original documents for verification, especially for critical information like patient demographic information, insurance number, and medications.
