How to Set Your Preferred Languages

Empathia AI is designed to support physicians with clinical documentation by streamlining note-taking, improving accuracy, and reducing administrative burden. One key step to getting the most out of the tool is setting your preferred languages. 

Why Set Preferred Languages?

Choosing your preferred language helps Empathia AI tailor the notes and formatting to your specific needs. Here's why it matters:

• Improved Accuracy: Language-specific grammar, medical terminology, and phrasing are better understood.

• Adaptibility: The AI adapts to how you naturally write in your chosen language, improving accuracy and clarity.

• Smoother Workflow: Especially important for non-English speakers or multilingual physicians and patients, this setting reduces the need for corrections or rephrasing.

• Patient Safety: Precise documentation supports better clinical communication and reduces the risk of errors.

Whether you speak in English, Spanish, French, or another supported language, setting them correctly ensures Empathia AI works with you to deliver high quality medical documentation. 

How to Set Your Preferred Languages:

Follow these steps to set your language in the Empathia AI extension:

1. Open the Extension:

 - If you have downloaded the extension, click the "Open Extension" button on the Home page to launch the extension. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this button.

2. Go to Settings:
- Click the gear icon ⚙️ which is labelled "Settings" and is located on the right side of the Extension. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this button. 

 
3. Select Your Preferred Languages in Settings:

a) Locate the “Preferred Languages” dropdown and choose the languages you typically use in encounters. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this dropdown. 

b) You can choose to delete the languages using the "X" button as well. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this option. 

4. Save Changes:
- In all cases, your choice will save automatically.

5. Select Your Preferred Languages Before Doing An Encounter:

a) Go to New:
- Click the Emma icon which is labelled "New" and is located on the right side of the Extension. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this button. 

b) Locate the “Languages” dropdown and select the languages you typically use in encounters. You can also choose to select "Auto" in case the encounters occur in multiple languages. Please refer to the screenshot below for a visual representation of this dropdown. 

Once set, Empathia AI will begin adapting its assistance to your preferred languages, helping you document faster and more accurately with less effort. Enjoy!
