The Empathia app is now fully optimized for iPad, allowing you to work seamlessly in both portrait and landscape modes. Additionally, the Notepad feature is also available, letting you type, dictate, or write using your Apple Pencil.

1. Download and Open the Empathia App

  1. Open the App Store on your iPad.
  2. Search for Empathia and download the app.
  3. Launch the app and log in with your credentials.

2. Start a New Visit or Dictation

  1. Tap "+ New Visit" or "Start Dictate" as you would on the mobile version.
  2. The Notepad page will appear, just like in the Empathia Chrome Extension.
  3. Rotate your iPad to either portrait or landscape mode—Empathia will automatically adjust.

3. Use the Notepad Feature

Empathia’s Notepad on iPad allows multiple input methods:

  • Typing: Tap the notepad entry box to use the on-screen keyboard.
  • Apple Pencil Scribble: Tap inside the notepad entry box with your Apple Pencil to trigger the Scribble feature, which automatically converts your handwriting to text.

Additional Scribble Features:

  • Undo Button (bottom left): Tap to revert the last edit.
  • Language Option: Tap the language icon to change the language and start writing in another language.
  • Dictation: Tap the microphone icon at the bottom to dictate directly into the notepad.
  • Switching Between Input Methods:
    • To switch from Scribble Mode to Keyboard Mode, tap the notepad entry box with your finger.
    • To return to Scribble Mode, tap the box again with your Apple Pencil.

4. Finalizing Your Notes

  1. All input (typed, dictated, or handwritten) is automatically saved within the notepad and incorporated into your note.
  2. Continue adding to the notepad during the recording.

Best Practices and Tips

  • Optimize Orientation: Use portrait mode for a compact view or landscape for a wider workspace.
  • Apple Pencil Readiness: Ensure your Apple Pencil is fully charged and paired with your iPad.
  • Test Before Use: Try a short note first to get comfortable with Scribble, typing, and dictation before documenting a full encounter.

The Empathia iPad app enhances your documentation experience with flexible viewing modes, Apple Pencil Scribble support, and efficient note-taking tools—allowing you to work faster and more effectively from anywhere.
