How to use Macros to speed up charting?

The Macros feature in Empathia AI streamlines your workflow by allowing you to use common medical phrases quickly and efficiently. With just a few keystrokes, you can insert standard terms, making documentation faster and easier.

Below are more details about macros! 

1. To Create a Macro:

After clicking on "Macros" which is located on the left side panel, click "Add new". In the Text macro manager, input the name under "Quick Key", which you will use to search for the macros. Insert short phrases or longer notes in "Expansion". Below is a visual representation. 

- We also offer over 500 community macros, which you could easily save to your personal library.

- The Quick Key displays the name of the macro. 

- The Expansion feature shows the complete text of the macro. 

- The Share Level indicates whether the macro is Personal or Community (default). 

- Available actions include editing, deleting, copying, and searching for macros.

2. Manage Preferred Shortcut Keys:

- Click “Manage Shortcuts”, the default shortcut is “dot”

- Choose from dot code, #, or other options. Below is a visual representation of this. 

3. How to Use Macros:

Use the “shortcut key” to activate the feature, and use 'quick key' to find the macro, then press 'return' to autocomplete and insert the complete macro text. Macros can be inserted anywhere in your notes.

- You can use them during recording and note-taking using the Extension.

- You can use them during note editing on the Web.

Next Steps and Upcoming Iteration:

- Soon, you can select an existing note and click 'Save as macro” as an alternative way to create macros easily.

- Soon, users will be able to share their macros with colleagues and within clinics.

- We are also researching the possibility of using voice commands to cue the AI and insert macro paragraphs.
