Pausing and Resuming an Encounter on Web and Extension

Created by Niharika Khiria, Modified on Sat, 5 Oct, 2024 at 2:28 PM by Celine Lin

Clinicians can easily manage multiple patients using Empathia AI’s "Pause" and "Resume" recording features. If an urgent situation arises while documenting with one patient, simply pause the recording to save progress. After attending to the other patient, clinicians can return and resume recording right where they left off, ensuring seamless and accurate documentation for each encounter. This allows for flexible and efficient patient management without losing any critical information.

How It Works

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature effectively on Web Portal and Google Chrome Extension:

On Web Portal

1. Start the Encounter: Begin your encounter as usual by clicking the "New Encounter" button. Below is a visual representation of this.

2. Select "Pause": While the encounter is active, tap the "Pause" button which is beside "Stop and Save". Click on it again to resume the encounter.

3. Finish the Encounter: Click "Stop and Save" to finalize the encounter.

On Google Chrome Extension

Firstly, if you have not used the Extension feature yet, please refer to the article on how to set up Empathia AI with Google Chrome Extension.

1) Start the Encounter: Begin your encounter as usual by clicking the "Start Recording" button. Below is a visual representation of this.

2. Select "Pause": While the encounter is active, tap the "Pause" button which is beside "Stop and Process". Click on it again to resume the encounter.

3. Finish the Encounter: Click "Stop and Process" to finalize the encounter.
